Move plans

A move plan turns your captured layout into a sequence of practical physical changes. Stowplan shows why it made each suggestion so you can reject advice that does not match the room in front of you.

Check readiness

Open Plan after the relevant spaces are mostly counted. When there is no active plan, Generate move plan appears before the explanation, priorities, and readiness guidance so you can act immediately when the evidence is already sufficient. The readiness panel separates information required to make a useful plan from details that would only improve confidence.

It may ask you to:

• finish an uncounted or in-progress space
• replace quick-capture defaults with a more useful item detail
• describe whether a destination is suitable
• add measurements when physical fit is uncertain

Each prompt opens the relevant Capture, Inventory, or Spaces editor. Measurements remain optional when capacity is not the question.

Generate and review

Generate a plan to move directly to a focused Next move card. When you return to Plan, the active plan's next physical move appears before plan priorities and readiness guidance. Its source, destination, amount, and Mark moved action stay visible. On a phone, the route emphasizes the two physical endpoints; open Why this move and review details to see their full hierarchy paths, the reasoning, and links to the underlying records. Review full plan, planning readiness, and active Plan options open in focused sheets instead of lengthening the page. Before a plan exists, its setup and readiness guidance remain directly on the page.

Stowplan considers:

• rules that make a destination unsuitable
• measured capacity when both sides have compatible measurements
• items that should stay together
• easier access for frequently used things
• physical distance
• whether moving one nested container avoids many item-by-item moves

Missing measurements are shown as unverified capacity, not as proof that an item fits or does not fit.

Work through the steps

Complete plan steps in order because an earlier move may free space needed by the next one. After Mark moved, the same focused card advances to the next physical action.

Before completing a step, check the named source, destination, and amount against the physical item or container. If the saved workspace has changed since the plan was made, Stowplan stops and asks for review instead of moving a different record.

Use the item, container, and destination links inside the details disclosure to inspect the evidence without completing the step.

Change your mind

Plans are suggestions, not instructions you must obey. Make a manual move, adjust the priorities, discard the plan, or generate a fresh one after substantial edits.

Completed plan steps are ordinary workspace changes. Review or undo them from Activity when the physical result differs from the plan.
